An updated version of our coronavirus guidance (13/3/2020) :
Coronavirus
We just wanted to keep you up to date with our decisions re the coronavirus pandemic. The situation is changing rapidly and we will let you know of any changes.
The health and safety of our members and their families is our main priority.
Currently, there are no plans to cancel, postpone or otherwise change training or matches but this may be reviewed in the light of developments or further advice.
These are the measures we will be taking:
· We will wipe balls with antibacterial wipes after each training session and bibs will be washed regularly. If we are able to buy hand sanitising gel, this will be available to players at the beginning and end of each session.
· We are requesting that players wash their hands in soap and water, or with an alcohol-based hand gel, before coming to training and as soon as possible after training.
· We recommend that players do not share drinks with other players or use another player’s whistle.
· We would remind players of the advice that if you cough or sneeze to cover your mouth and nose with a flexed elbow or tissue – throw the tissue away immediately and wash your hands.
· We request that players follow the government’s advice on self-isolating.
· We fully understand if players don’t wish to shake hands with their opponent of officials after matches: three cheers will be enough!
We recognise that many of you may be living with or caring for someone who may be more vulnerable to coronavirus, which may mean you wish not to come to training and matches. We really understand if you need to make that decision; please just let us know so we can make any adjustments we need to for training or for squads.
Thank you for your co-operation,
The Executive Committee, on behalf of Devizes Netball Club
