About the Club

The club was founded in 1979. We have over 70 senior club members and over 130 juniors.  For the 2023/2024 Season our first squad will be playing in Southwest Regional League 3 again and we also have eight teams in the Moonraker League. Regional matches take place on Sundays and Moonraker on Tuesday or Thursday evenings.

Our aim is to provide opportunities for for all members to play competitive netball, and to receive training appropriate to their experience and standard of play. Members are committed to training weekly and competing in local and regional leagues and as a club we try to help each player to play competitive netball to the best of their ability whilst maintaining a sense of fun and fair play. We also encourage members to be actively involved in coaching, umpiring and scoring. Members are actively supported in achieving umpiring and coaching qualifications to enable their own development as well as preparing the club for subsequent years.

The Junior section has been going for over 20 years and girls can join from year 5 and stay until the end of year 11. We enter juniors into England Netball's pathway trials every year and usuallly have players in the satellite and county hubs. This season we have two girls who are part of Team Bath development hubs.Talented juniors can be selected early into adult teams which can include our regional team. We encourage the girls to have fun, keep fit and to progress into competitive matches. Junior members are encouraged to progress into adult squads to promote continued development and participation once they have passed school year 11. Membership numbers are steady, and we do have waiting lists for both adult and junior places.

Training takes place on Monday and Wednesday evenings at Devizes Leisure Centre. Juniors train during term time on Mondays between 5.30 and 9pm at the outdoor courts.  Senior training is split.  For more information on this please contact the club accoringly. The club also hosts the Moonraker Summer League which takes place in June and July each year.

The club has its Bronze CAPS (Club Action Planning Scheme) award. CAPS is aligned to the Sport England Clubmark accreditation scheme. It is built around a set of core criteria which ensure that accredited clubs with junior sections operate to a set, consistent, accepted and adopted minimum operating standards. Clubs achieving this accreditation are recognised nationally as having a well run club which is active and accessible. CAPS incorporates the Clubmark criteria covering the areas of Safeguarding and protecting children and young people, quality coaching and officiating, competition, talent development, sports equality and good management.

If you would like to be part of the club, you are very welcome to apply to join; we usually operate a short waiting list, but will let you know when you apply.
