Runners up SDNA summer league

A reduced Devizes team played tough semis and finals on Wednesday 24th July in the heat of the Dorcan dome at this year's Swindon higher level netball league came to an end.
The squad - reduced by illness, holiday and work commitments - consisted of only 8 players who had to play two 40 minute games almost back to back.
In the semis, Devizes met their old rivals Abbeymead and for the first time in five years beat them by nine goals to go forward to the finals to meet Park - the team they had beaten by 2 goals in the very first round.
Park, whose line up included two Premier league players, were on top form, and led by eight goals at half time, but in the second half Devizes pulled back to lose only be 3 goals at the final whistle, earning them impressive and well-deserved silver medals.
